35g (1¬ľoz) butter
little olive oil
300g (10oz) mixed mushrooms, sliced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 British sirloin steaks
handful parsley, leaves removed and finely chopped

Steak with a Garlic and Parsley Risotto is a simple indian cuisine dish. Steak with a Garlic and Parsley Risotto can be served as by itself.

Method

Heat a frying pan and add the butter with just a splash of oil. When very hot, throw in the mushrooms with a generous amount of seasoning and fry on a high heat for a few minutes until they’re browned and slightly caramelised. Toss in the garlic and cook for around 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat a griddle pan, oil and season the steaks and cook for 2 to 4 minutes on each side, depending on thickness. Allow the steaks to rest for a few minutes, then tip the juices into the mushrooms, heat again, add the parsley and serve over the sliced steaks. This dish is delicious served with our homemade chips (see recipe below).

Easy oven chips Cut baking potatoes into batons, toss in a little olive oil and plenty of sea salt, and cook at 200 C, 180 C fan, 400 F, gas 6 for 30 to 40 minutes, turning a couple of times. Flavour with smoked paprika, dried oregano or thyme, or garam masala for a take on curried chips.
